From a Wood Stove in Santee to Your Table
Essie B’s Treats was inspired by two remarkable women—my grandmothers, Essie and Bertha.
As a little girl in Santee, South Carolina, I would sit in a rocking chair beside their wood-burning stove, making sure the fire stayed hot while they baked everything by hand. I watched every step, learned every lesson, and proudly served as the family’s official taste tester.
I began baking from scratch at just nine years old, and those cherished memories continue to inspire every dessert I create today.
Our desserts are handcrafted using premium ingredients and time-honored recipes because we believe every customer deserves the very best.
What truly makes Essie B’s Treats different is our purpose. A portion of our earnings helps support organizations dedicated to cancer, lupus, diabetes, and epilepsy research and awareness. Every order helps us spread hope while creating something delicious.

My hope for Essie B’s Treats is to build more than just a bakery—I want to create a lasting legacy. I dream of transforming homemade recipes passed down from my grandmothers, Essie and Bertha, into a thriving business that brings comfort, joy, and celebration to every customer. Every cake, pie, cookie, and treat I make is deeply rooted in family tradition, love, and authentic scratch baking.
I aspire for Essie B’s Treats to become a trusted name in Memphis, Tennessee, and beyond—known for quality, freshness, and desserts that truly feel like home. My ultimate goal is to grow from a small home-based bakery into a charming storefront where people can walk in, savor the aroma of freshly baked goods, and feel welcomed like family. And as we grow, giving back will always remain at our core. A portion of our success will consistently support causes close to my heart, including cancer, lupus, diabetes, and epilepsy awareness and support.
